An event that did not make it on American news, but may well be a warning of things to come has recently transpired in Europe. Italy has created a law requiring all gypsy (roma) to register and be fingerprinted. This law came in to effect almost exactly 70 years after the exact same law was passed with regard toward Jews. The results of that law aside from World War 2 were that today Jewish population of Italy is 28,600 (http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Judaism/jewpop.html) whereas Jewish population pre-1938 was at least an order higher. A similar disturbing trend has been reported in Germany, Denmark and Netherlands. While, I cannot propose any specific action with regard to this problem, I believe it is vital to be aware of this development.
