Today, I had the misfortune of having to listen to a presentation by a person who caught the multi-level marketing bug. The more I listened, the more I realised why MLMs are not sustainable. There is no value. Let’s face it, as a distribution network, MLM is just not very efficient. It appears efficient because there are countless numbers of people who are running around and “sharing”. The problem is that there is very little inherent value in what they have to share. For most people, this is just another failed get rich scheme. Few people are at the top, and they are paraded as an example of somebody that you could be like, except, the whole systems works on the fact that only a small group of people can be at the top. That’s why they are called multi level marketing and that’s why they mimic the pyramid schemes.
The promise is that you do this for five years and make enough money to retire, but most people never get there. The claim is that you would be your own boss, and have a relaxing lifestyle. Yet the whole system is based on the assumption that you will be a part of this organization, do as you are told and work long hours to generate your sales.
The whole model is flawed. It’s based on the push model of mass production. It does not ask what the market wants or needs. It shows it product down the market’s throat. While it claims the promise of freedom it is a model that is based on tyranny. In spite of the promise of fairness, MLM has shown time after time that it allows the few to exploit the many.
There is a better solution. One that does not promise shortcuts, but rather commitment and lots of learning. This solution begins with identifying and custom designing the business that fits your strengths, rather than seeks to force you in to a mold of doing the same thing as everyone. It is a model where the people at the top serve the people at the bottom, instead of derive benefit from them. This model does not promise freedom, instead it offers purpose. The purpose driven businesses where people actually want to serve their customers and make a difference are the heart of the future. These are the businesses from which one does not have to retire, because they are the businesses they enjoy, because these are the businesses that make a difference, because these businesses fit their life.
E-M8 is the business model that encaurages just that. A lifetime of service, something one can be proud of. Join E-M8 revolution by taking the time to make a difference. I will be glad to work with you to show you how.
