This weekend I got to enjoy a great gypsy jazz party at Lewis’s and met a lot of great people. After the party died down, Rex has shared something with me that really resonated. As a tennis pro he shares this advice with many of his clients, but it’s such good advice that I wanted to share it with you. He said ”All we can control is our attitude, effort and the clothing we wear. We cannot control if we win or lose.” To which I add that we cannot control what the weather will be like, or how the market is going to move. We cannot control what has happened or will happen. And we would have a lot less worry and a lot more joy in our life if we just focused on achieving greatness in our attitude, in our effort and in the clothing we wear. God is the God of the present and that is where he dwells. And in Him there is a stillness in our lives.
So, next time I get frazzled with this or that, please remind me what I can and can’t control. I will appreciate it.
