Should my first two arguments fail to challenge the concept of Singularity as the blessed hope of humanity, I propose a third argument: The beauty of a current system of intelligence is precisely in its suboptimization, since that is what makes it flexible and adoptable.
The very impreciseness and imperfection of our world makes it our world. Human minds are infinitely adaptable to the changing circumstances precisely because they are imprecise. Some of the most competitive organizations in the industry are wonderfully sub-optimized. It is a trade of performance and flexibility that keeps us alive and reduces our susceptibility of disaster.
